A Section 504 plan provides accommodations for any eligible student who has a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits a major life activity. It is individualized and based on the specific student's needs. It is not Special Education and eligible students only receive services through general education programs. Section 504 protects a broader group of students than does IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act)
